PRESENTATION & LECTURE TOPICS
Children and the Paranormal: This class explores both Piaget's stages of cognitive development and Erikson's stages of psychosocial development and how a child might perceive and be affected by the paranormal at each phase.
Other discussion points include signs that children are communicating with spiritual energies; some tips and suggestions for parents, educators and paranormal investigators on how to handle such cases. This course also offers advice for mentoring a child with psychic abilities and explains the origins and traits of crystal, rainbow, indigo and blue-ray children.
Ghostology:This course explores the classifications of and theories for various ghosts and spirits, such as earthbound entities vs. spirits, classic shadow people, crisis apparitions, types of elemental energies, angels, poltergeists / PK (psychokinesis), animal spirits, vortexes, orbs (the great orb debate), celestial entities, waking dreams, etc. Furthermore, discussion will include research on how spiritual entities communicate with the living; theories for how the human body can possibly survive death; foundations, mechanisms and signs of a haunting; various paranormal research theories and hypotheses; how to survive a haunting and classic cases of hauntings from around the world.
San Diego’s Most Haunted: This presentation discusses the history and paranormal claims of various historical landmarks in San Diego, California. Locations discussed include the Whaley House, Cosmopolitan Hotel, Hotel Del Coronado, Santee Barn, Davis-Horton House, Rancho Buena Vista Adobe, Pine Hills Lodge, AVO Playhouse, Star of India (Euterpe), Berkeley Ferryboat, and more. The San Diego Paranormal Research Society has conducted paranormal investigations at many of the sites mentioned and its highlights / paranormal collected data from its case files are discussed in depth.
Spirited RMS Queen Mary: Nicole has been researching the RMS Queen Mary for over 15 years. She has presented about the ship's history and paranormal phenomena at numerous conferences and libraries as well as on television, radio and in print. This presentation gives a detailed overview of the liner's remarkable history and thoroughly discusses its resident spiritual energies and theories for its hauntings. Collected paranormal data in the form of audio, video and photography from various ship locations will be showcased. This is a very popular and often requested presentation.
Tulpas and Thought Projections: Implications in Paranormal Research: It is often highly theorized that our own thoughts and psychokinetic projections can directly cause or at least influence a location's hauntings. This presentation discusses the origins of tulpas or "manifestations" and "emanations." It is theorized that persistent thoughts about something can generate thought-provoked life forms. Thus, are some known hauntings and/or spiritual entities the byproduct of our own imaginations and psychokinetic creations? Quite possibly, yes. For example, are some alleged negative and/or malevolent paranormal cases caused by human thought projections and tulpas? This question and more are examined in this presentation as well as how tulpas can implicate the field of paranormal research.
Trends in Paranormal Research: This presentation explores various trends in the field of paranormal research and investigation and their effects on the field at large. Discussed trends include technological advances / metaphysical instruments and their implications; spirit resolution vs. "para-tainment"; getting rid of "ego" and educational development. Those who fervently engage themselves in down-to-earth paranormal research, including proper protocol, standard operating procedures and empathy, are becoming more comfortable calling out those amateur groups of people who act in manners that disrespect the departed and the field at large. All in all, I do see more and more genuine, grounded paranormal research teams expanding their repertoire by helping the ethereal energies they investigate and commune with. In my opinion, this is vital in the rapport building between the living and departed – the ultimate, natural way to improve not only the paranormal research arena but how the public at large perceives it.
History of Spiritualism and Séances: This lecture discusses the history of Spiritualism and its impact on paranormal research. Discussed are the key individuals involved in Spiritualism, such as the Fox Sisters, Houdini and other scientific researchers who either supported or debunked those claiming to be psychic. The types of fraud that occurred during the movement are also highlighted as are the ways those attempted to communicate with the spirit realm.
Spirits of Rancho Buena Vista Adobe: The San Diego Paranormal Research Society has been studying the history and spiritual phenomena at the Rancho Buena Vista Adobe for ten years. This presentation highlights some of the team's case study data (EVP and ITC captures), personal experiences and history of the iconic Vista landmark.
USA’s Most Haunted Places: This is an exciting presentation where Nicole takes you on a haunted journey across the USA. She discusses the nation’s most haunted locations and delves into the history, legends, paranormal happenings and ghosts / spirits inhabiting these famous locales. Enjoy hearing about the RMS Queen Mary, the Alamo, Waverly Hills Sanatorium, Winchester Mystery House, Myrtles Plantation, Rolling Hills Asylum, Preston Castle, the Stanley Hotel, Eastern State Penitentiary, St. Augustine Lighthouse, Salem Massachusetts, Gettysburg Battlefield, Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum, Whaley House and many more locations with spine-tingling tales.
The Afterlife Chronicles: This presentation is based off of Nicole's book, The Afterlife Chronicles: Exploring the Connection between Life, Death and Beyond, debuting in late 2020. The book, this presentation and upcoming radio show, "The Afterlife Chronicles with Nicole Strickland," highlight the undying connection between mortality and the afterlife, showcasing the beautiful interconnection between both worlds through the pureness of experiences. In addition to discussion about near-death experiences, grief and loss, spirit communication, spirit guides and the role of innate intuition, this captivating presentation will share life-changing experiences people have had with the spirit realm.
Working with Clients: This presentation explores more in detail the paranormal case study client interview process for private residence, business and historical locations. Information will be presented on how to recognize when potential clients may be suffering from a physical or mental disorder / negative family dynamic, which can not only impede the case study process but exacerbate whatever issue they're dealing with. There will also be discussion on how mainstream media / entertainment has affected peoples' beliefs of paranormal phenomena and the spirit world.
